  • School of the Art Institute of Chicago : photography
  • and MFA in Performance 1979 (combined studies in music and fine art)
    Graduate advisor: Thomas Jaremba,  head of Performance Department
  • Teaching assistant under the mentorship of Mr. Jaremba

Teaching experience:

  • Performance instructor at School of the Art Institute of Chicago 1983-1989
    Voice Production class and private instruction
  • 2000 to 2006: Head of voice department at Sun Valley Summer Symphony
    School of Music ( advanced classical music program
    during the  school year for piano, strings, and voice, preparing gifted
    music students for college).
  • Currently in Carmel: private voice instructor, and soprano soloist
  • Faculty at Monterey Peninsula College/ Voice 2017 to present

Notable students’ accomplishments:

  • All state solo competition district finalists in 2003, 2004, 2005, and 2006
  • State Finalists:
    • 2004: mezzo-soprano 3rd place in finals
    • 2005: baritone 1st place in finals
    • 2006 mezzo-soprano district finalist
    • Upper school admissions to Idyllwild and Interlochen, and NYU CAP21.
    • College admissions to NYU CAP 21, Dartmouth “A Capella”, Manhattan School of Music,
      Idaho State Univ. applied voice program, and Oberlin
